As a former Deputy District Attorney, Mr. Jang has dedicated his legal career to advocating for justice and protecting those who need it most. His passion for law and justice began at UCLA, where he earned a degree in Philosophy.
He continued his legal education at Southwestern Law School through their accelerated SCALE program, an intensive curriculum compressing three years of study into two rigorous years. During his time at Southwestern, he was honored as both a Wildman Schumacher Scholarship recipient and a Leichtman Levine Scholarship recipient, awards recognizing academic excellence and dedication.
During law school, Mr. Jang also completed a highly competitive internship at Levine Leichtman Capital Partners, a prominent private equity firm in Beverly Hills managing approximately $10 billion in assets. The internship process was especially selective—although the firm typically accepted two interns, that year they chose only one. Mr. Jang was selected over candidates not only from his own law school but also from a local business school. This experience, earned through a multi-round evaluation process, provided him with invaluable insights into corporate finance and strategic business operations.
After graduation, he passed the California Bar Exam on his first attempt, marking the beginning of his professional legal journey. He was soon hired as an associate attorney at a respected law firm in Century City, handling complex consumer law cases. This foundational role equipped him with essential litigation skills and served as a springboard for his career as a prosecutor.
Mr. Jang’s prosecutorial career began as a Deputy District Attorney in Santa Barbara County, where he initially managed misdemeanor cases before advancing to the general felonies unit. In this capacity, he independently managed his caseload, negotiated dispositions, and successfully prosecuted felony and misdemeanor trials. He later joined the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office, where he served in several courthouses, most notably at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in downtown Los Angeles. There, he was assigned to the Preliminary Hearing Unit, where he managed extensive caseloads, conducted numerous preliminary hearings, and resolved a wide range of cases.
The types of cases Mr. Jang prosecuted in the Preliminary Hearing Unit included serious and violent felonies, attempted murder, robberies, grand theft, carjacking, DUIs, firearms/weapons charges, burglaries, and many others. Over the course of his prosecutorial career, he personally handled hundreds of preliminary hearings and took numerous cases to trial, earning a conviction rate of 90%.
In addition, Mr. Jang was also the Preliminary Hearing Unit’s Intern and Volunteer Supervisor where he mentored and supervised interns conducting preliminary hearings.
These extensive courtroom experiences have shaped Mr. Jang’s meticulous approach to case preparation and his relentless pursuit of justice. Above all, he is guided by his role as a protector—fighting tirelessly for his clients’ rights and best interests.
Outside the courtroom, Andrew enjoys hiking, discovering new culinary experiences, and spending meaningful time with family and friends.
Today, he brings his courtroom experience, integrity, and unwavering commitment to his clients. Whether handling criminal defense specializing in DUIs, personal injury, or other complex legal matters, Mr. Jang offers effective, personalized representation with a deep sense of duty to protect and advocate for those he serves.
